We're going to recall our trend for increasing metallic character on our periodic table. So drawing out a rough periodic table recall that our trend for metallic character increases as we go towards the bottom left of our periodic table. Now next, we want to focus on our groups recall that groups are the columns going down our periodic table. So beginning with group one A and ending off all the way towards the right with group eight A, we have our columns of our group numbers. Now group one A can also be considered group 10 and group eight A can also be considered group 18. Now we're told to focus on group seven A or group 17. So group seven A would be to the left of group eight A, our column going to the left of group eight A. Now we want to note the elements that are in this column on our periodic table. And we're going to begin by first marking the first row within that column where an element called fluorine is located, which it's represented by the chemical symbol F. So we can mark that in and recall that our rows across our periodic table are our period numbers. So fluorine is going to be actually in period two, which is the second row across our periodic table going through group seven A. Next beneath chlorine, we have a second element which is listed by its chemical symbol as capital C lowercase L for the element chlorine. Third, we have our element listed as bromine with a capital B lowercase R for its chemical symbol. Fourth, we have the element iodine and then fifth, we would observe our element astatine. Now we can also add an additional row going down our product table which would be row seven or period seven. So just increasing the length of our period table here, if we go down to that seventh period, we would hit an element known as tense represented by the chemical symbol. Capital T lower case S now I utilized a different color to represent Tence because so far we want to recall that group seven A is our halogen group and recall that the halogens consist of nonmetal atoms and metalloid. So just making room, our halogen group consists of nonmetals and metalloid. So between rows or periods two through period six where as is in group seven A, all of those elements, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine and acetin are all considered nonmetals. Whereas our metalloid within group seven A would be 10, sorry 10. So as far as answering our question, we would be able to rule out choice A which states that they are all metals. That is not true. We can also rule out choice. So we can also rule out choice C because it states that they are all metalloid. And that leaves us with choice B which states that all of the elements in group seven A are non metals. And we want to put an asterisk to say, accept for T under case S capital T under case S for Tennessine, which we observe is a metal. And according to some textbooks, you may even see that it's considered a metalloid. But at room temperature, we would observe Tennessine as a metal. So our best answer is going to be choice B, all of the elements in group seven A are nonmetals, specifically fluorine, chlorine, bromine iodine. And Aine B is our final answer.
