Recall first and foremost that the first step in finding an Iupac name is to identify the parent chain of the molecule in question. Now, when we say parent chain recall that we're describing the longest continuous chain of carbons that also incorporates the primary or highest priority functional group. In this case, recall that the highest priority functional group is going to incorporate the carbel that we see on the right side of the structure carbonel referring to this carbon atom bound or double bonded specifically to an oxygen atom. Now, because there's a hydrogen attached directly to the carbon carbon, this indicates that the highest priority functional group is in fact an aldehyde. So the highest priority functional group is in aldehyde and the longest continuous carbon chain is this benzene ring in the center of the structure.
