In Exercises 13–18, perform each matrix row operation and write the new matrix.

hey everyone here we are asked to write the new matrix after performing the matrix row operation. So here we are just given one operation where we take row three and divide each term by five and then rewrite the matrix, replacing these values that we get with row three. So we can begin by writing out our matrix. So our first two rows remain the same. They have started with row one, we have the values 15, negative 20 and eight row two. We have 25 35 and two. And now with row three, like I previously stated we'll be doing this operation and replacing the role with these values that we find. So we'll start with column one. So for this we have row three divided by five. So we'll look at column one of row three which is negative 10. So we'll have negative 10 divided by five. Now we can move on to column two. Again we look at row three column to our value here is two, so we will have two divided by five. And now with row or sorry, column three. Again looking at row three, column three, we have the value nine, so we have nine divided by five. And then for our final column on the right hand side of the vertical line we again have our value for row three which is 10 divided by five. And now all that is left to do is simplify these values here in row three. So I'm going to rewrite our matrix. So again our first two rows remain the same. Our first row has the values one, five, negative 20 and eight. Our second rows have the values 35 and two. And now we can simplify our third row here and have our final simplified matrix. So negative 10 5 gives us four, column one will have negative two, then 2/5 for column two can't be simplified, so we'll just have to fifth for column three. We also cannot simplify 9/5 any further, so we'll leave it as is. And then for our last column we have 10 divided by five just giving us two.
