We are told that A vector B starts out at M where M is equal to negative 10, negative three and ends at N where N is equal to express the vector B in terms of I and J. Our answer choices are answer choice A B equals negative I minus J. Answer choice B B equals 19 I plus seven J. Answer choice C B equals negative I plus seven J and answer choice DB equals I minus seven J. All right, we recall from previous lessons that when we have a vector that we want to express in terms of I and J, we set it equal to the quantity of X sub two minus X sub one which is multiplied by I plus the quantity of Y sub two minus Y sub one which is multiplied by J our X sub one and Y sub one come from the initial point which is M so negative 10 is our X sub one and negative three is our Y sub one and then our X sub two and our Y sub two come from the terminal point which is N so nine is our X sub two and four is our Y sub two. Now, we just need to plug those in for our vector B. So B equals the quantity of X sub two is nine minus X sub one is negative 10. And that's all multiplied by I plus. The quantity of Y sub two is four minus Y sub one is negative three. And that's all multiplied by J. Now, we just need to simplify what's inside of the parentheses. Nine minus negative 10 is the same as nine plus 10, which is 19. So we have 19 I and then four minus negative threes the same as four plus three. So we have plus seven J and that is our solution.
