The two pieces become detached from their chromosome and switch with each other. So the same genes are all there just in different places. So let's look at why our other answer. Choices are incorrect. In A and B, we have paracentric inversion and per centric inversion. Well, both of these are forms of inversion, obviously where a piece of A chromosome becomes detached and that piece is inverted 180° and then refuses with the chromosome.
