In this problem, we are given vectors u and v, and we're asked to sketch the result in vector u plus v. Now to solve this, what I'm going to do is use the tip to tail method. And for the tip to tail method, recall that we can take vectors and we can move them around. So I'm gonna take vector v, and I'm going to draw it so it's at the tip of vector u, the tail of vector 'v' is. So moving this vector over here it's going to start at this point and I can see this vector is 1, 2 units to the right and 1, 2, 3, 4 units down. So gonna go 2 units to the right, 1, 2, 3, 4 units down, and this right here would be vector 'v'. So now that I have vector 'v' drawn right in this position right there, I can now draw the resultant vector, which is going to be from the initial point of the first vector to the terminal point of the last vector there. So So this right here would be the vector u+v. And keep in mind, you could have drawn this vector anywhere on the grid. It doesn't matter where you draw it.
