Hi, everyone. Welcome back. Let's look at our next problem. It says identify the bacterial DNA polymerase that removes the R N A primers. And our answer choices are a DNA GB polymerase, one C polymerase three or D. All of the above. So remembering that we do have that option of all of them being correct. Let's think about this process. As we remember to start DNA replication, you need to have a short R N A primer that provides that O H N for the addition of DNA nucleotides. And then after the daughter strand has been produced, an enzyme needs to come along to remove that R N A primer and replace it with DNA and the enzyme that accomplishes that is choice B polymerase one, I won't select it as my answer just yet just in case something else comes along since I do have the option of all of the above. But let's go through our other answer choices to make sure. So as we mentioned, polymerase one does primer removal, but it also with its polymerase and nucleus activities is key for proof reading and mutation repair. Let's look at choice A DNA G Well, DNA G does not remove the primer, DNA G is the enzyme involved in R N A primer synthesis. So the exact opposite. So DNA G or shall I say is definitely not our answer. And that means we can go ahead and eliminate that choice D all of the above. If I were on a test, I'd go ahead and select choice B as my answer and move on. But in the interest of being thorough, we'll look at choice C Which is polymerase three and polymerase three is not involved in primer removal. Its main function is in adding new nucleotides in synthesizing the new DNA strand. So it's kind of the main synthesizer, the main enzyme that comes along and adds the new base in that creation of the daughter strand. It also has a proof reading function. Um But it definitely does not remove R N A primers and therefore it is not our answer. So again, identify the bacterial polymerase that remove the R N A primers. Choice B polymerase one.
