Well, this one is pretty nice and straightforward for us. We know that to locate a gene, you use various strategies of gene mapping such as recombination studies and sequencing of DNA, looking for the gene gene in the DNA sequence based on comparable genes in other species. And it's pretty logical that the larger the genome, the more base pairs you have to go through. The more possibilities for gene location, the more difficult it will be to find the gene. So we can pretty easily eliminate choice d that genome size will not affect the strategies that are used. And when we look at our other entry choices, we would say that choice c larger genomes are more challenging and time consuming A and B have this reversed. With a saying that larger genomes are easier and B that smaller genomes are time consuming. So they're not correct. And indeed, when we look at Drosophila, it has about 100 50 million base pairs, which is pretty large for an insect and would be difficult to go through the whole thing looking for a gene. But in the example, given our question, we know the gene is located on the X chromosome, which you could see by a pattern of inheritance. And that would obviously make your search a lot easier because you're narrowed down to just one X chromosome. So you'd have different strategies for that and you'd be having a much easier task than if you had to search all 150 million base pairs.
