Hey everyone in this problem we are asked to state the results in standard form after executing indicated operations we have seven. I plus 14 -5. Now seven I plus 14. That is a an imaginary number. Okay. And then we're subtracting five. So let's write out what we're given seven I plus minus five. And we're taking an imaginary number and then we're just subtracting. Okay we can get rid of the brackets so we get seven I plus 14 minus five. And now the portion of the numbers that don't have eyes attached, just these constant numbers we can go ahead and add and subtract these. Just like we do when we aren't talking about imaginary numbers. Okay. Just with real numbers adding and subtracting. So we have 14 minus five which is going to give us nine. Okay so we have seven I plus nine. And if we look at our answer choices we see that we can write this the other way around. Okay? We're going to have D Nine plus seven. I just like you can write normal editions. You know if you have X plus two you can write that as two plus X. You can do the same with imaginary numbers when we have seven I plus nine.
