Hello. Today we're going to be factoring a given expression. So the expression given to us is 49 x squared -121. Now, if you take a look at the first term in last term here, both of these terms are perfect squares. 49 X squared can be rewritten as seven X raised to the power of two and 121 can be rewritten as 11 squared. So what we have here is a difference of square terms and we do have a special factory ization for that. When we have the quantity A squared minus B squared. This can be factored to two quantities A plus B times a minus B. So in order to use this, we need to go ahead and identify what are A and B are. Well A is just going to be the factor of the first term which is going to be seven X. So A is equal to seven X and B is the factor of the second term. So B is going to equal to 11. Now what we want to do is go ahead and plug in these values of A and B into our factory Ization doing so is going to give me a plus B which is seven X plus 11 times a minus B, which is seven x minus 11. And this is going to be the complete factory ization of our given polynomial.
