Everyone in this video, we're going to be looking at this practice problem where we want to perform the multiplication -4 divided by nine times negative 63 divided by 20. So in this case you can see that we have two negative fractions multiplied together. And recall that when we have two negatives we get a positive value. So although we don't know the exact value of our answer, we know that it's going to be positive. So I'm gonna go ahead and rewrite this multiplication in the more standard fraction form and I'm going to go ahead and get rid of the negative signs Just to make it easier to visualize because I already know that my answer needs to be positive. So I'll have four divided by nine times 63 divided by 20. And in this case because we are multiplying the fractions together we just need to multiply the enumerators together and the denominators together. So if I do that I'll have four times Divided by nine times 20. And already from this step you may notice that we can simplify some of these values because nine goes into 63-7 times. So that means this nine could become a one And four goes into 25 times. So this four could become a one. So then I'm left with one times seven divided by one times five or 7/5. However, if you didn't notice this simplification early on in the problem, That's also fine you can multiply four times 63 to get 252 divided by nine times which is 180. And you can slowly start to simplify your fraction to also go down to seven divided by five. So 252 divided by 180 is the same thing as seven divided by five. So these are just two ways to arrive at the same answer, and 7/5 is our final answer for the multiplication negative four, divided by nine times negative 63 divided by 20.
