In Exercises 15–35, solve each equation. Then state whether the equation is an identity, a conditional equation, or an inconsistent equation. 7(x-4) = x + 2

Hello today we're gonna be working on an equation and stating whether that equation is conditional or not. So the equation given to us is six times B plus two Equal to B -3. Now, in order to start this we're gonna go ahead and distribute the six into this minnow meal. So this way we can be able to open up the parentheses. Doing so is going to give me six times B Plus six times 2 which is 12 equal to B -3. Now, what I'm going to do next is go ahead and subtract 12 to both sides of this equation. Doing so is going to give me six times B Equal to B -15. And for the final step I'm gonna go ahead and subtract a B to both sides. Doing so is going to give me five B equal to negative 15. And what we're going to do now is go ahead and isolate B by dividing five to both sides. Doing so is going to give me be equal to negative three. Now, what this means is that there is only one solution for B when there's only one solution for an equation. That means that that equation is going to be a conditional equation. So the answer to this equation is negative three and it is conditional.
