Right in the equation of a line that passes through 46 and negative three negative eight. Express the equation and slope intercept form and make use of a system of equations. In finding M and B we have four different equations as our answer. Now to solve this, let's set up our system of equations. We have the equation Y equals M X plus B. We can use our point to create our equations. Let's say our first one is for six, we would then get six equals M multiplied by four plus B or six equals four M plus B. We can do the same with our other point negative three, negative eight or give us negative eight equals N multiplied by negative three plus B. This gives us negative eight equals negative three M plus B. We can now create our system, we get four M plus B equal six, negative three M possibly equals negative eight. Now we can solve for one of our variables. Let's multiply our second equation by negative one to get four M plus B equals six and three M minus B equals eight. We can now add these together, we hit seven M equals which dividing seven from both sides gives us M equals two. Now, we can substitute this two into either one of our equations. So you have six equals, or multiplied by N which is two plus V hit six equals eight plus B and subtracting A on both sides gives us B equals negative two. We now have our M and our B of our equation.
