welcome back. I am so glad you're here. We are given this improper fraction. 34 7th improper because the numerator is larger than the denominator and were asked to write it as a mixed number. So with the whole number in front and then a fraction part. So how do we do that? Well, I'll show you a couple of ways. One if you don't have a calculator handy and one if you do we know that 34 7th is the same as 34 divided by seven. And we know that seven times five gives us 35. So seven times four Will get us really close to 34 without going over what is seven times four. That's 28. So the whole number here is four and then we've taken away 28 parts of our 34 7th. So we've taken away four holes or 4 7/7 which is 28 7th and now we want to see what's left over in a fraction. The denominator will stay the same, the denominator will stay seven. And to find out what's left, we can take 34 minus this. Four of 7/7 or 28. So 34 minus 28 will leave us with 6/7 left over. So that's how we get our answer. If you don't have a calculator. If you do have a calculator, you can input 34 divided by seven and you will get something like 4.85714 and it'll keep going and that's how you get this whole number four again. That's helpful if it's a big number that you can't discern in your head. And then how do you turn this decimal into a fraction? Well, it's going to be the same process. You take the four holes and you multiply it by the denominator to see how many that is and so you'll get the 28 and again you'll take for the numerator minus that product minus the and you'll have six parts left over. And so we look at our answer choices and this matches answer choice D. Well done, we'll catch you on the next one.
