Hello today we're going to be rewriting an absolute value expression without the absolute value bars. So the absolute value expression given to us is the absolute value of A minus the absolute value of B. And we are told that A. Is equal to one and B. Is equal to negative seven. So in order to start evaluating this let's just go ahead and plug in our a. And b into this expression doing so is gonna give me the absolute value of one minus the absolute value of negative seven. Okay what do we do with the absolute values while the absolute value? Pretty much tells you to take the absolute distance of the given value inside. So what an absolute value represents on a number line Is the absolute distance between two numbers A. & B. On the right hand side here. What this is saying is that between two numbers you have an absolute value of seven because native seven can also be represented as positive seven but you only want the positive value because you only care about the absolute distance. So we could rewrite negative seven as positive seven And one can be rewritten as the positive value one. So what we are left with is 1 -7 and that's going to result in the value of -6 which is our solution and the answer to this problem is going to be D.
